About Me

I believe that yoga found me while I was dealing with the overwhelming challenge of home schooling my six-year-old who was on the autism spectrum. Everything began to change the day I took him to a special needs yoga class. When I entered the yoga studio, it felt as if the walls were hugging me; I was home. As I lay down on my mat, I knew the healing had begun. I appreciated the permission I felt to let go of the tension in my mind and my body.

When my son was diagnosed with autism, my life was turned upside down. On a mission to save him, I ran from therapy to therapy, consumed with getting him better. I completely lost my sense of self and found I could no longer enjoy life.

When I started practicing yoga and meditation with the support of many inspirational teachers, I dove deeper into the meaning of life to understand how to address the challenges I faced. I began to understand that my son - like each of us - can impact the lives of others for the good; that is how he became my inspiration to teach yoga.

Through studying, practicing and teaching, I understood the impact that creating space in our minds can have. As I worked through the slow opening of my body, I let go of blockage and tightness. My whole life was transformed; it was an awakening.

The journey I took with my son underscores how yoga and autism complement each other through the connection between the nervous system and the mind. The changes I observed in my son inspires me to teach individuals on the autism spectrum.

I am privileged to have received the blessing of yoga and am passionate about sharing these blessings with others.

NAMASTE
